Before You Start Dog Grooming
It is better to take the dog for a long walk before starting the grooming process. Grooming the dog becomes very easy after this; the dog keeps on obeying to all your order and with some treats the entire process becomes easy.
One must also keep all things ready before starting the grooming process; shampoo, conditioner, warm water etc. These things must be ready so that while grooming the dog, you don't have to run to fetch things.
Get Started
If your past experience was not good with the dog, then you need to forget that and continue this time. Bathing the dog appropriately will strengthen the bond between the owner and the dog.
Slightly place him in the bath tub which is filled till its knee length. Then once it gets used to it, slowly increase the water level. Wet its head and then move slowly towards its body.
While shampooing, start with the body and leave the face last to touch. After shampooing, wash its body properly with water. Preferably you must use a hand shower for this purpose. If in the mid-way the dog becomes fearful then no need to pamper it or even scold it. You remain cool and this will help the dog realize that there is nothing wrong; he will become calm after sometime.
After the Bathing Process
You can also use a hair dryer; just keep it at a safe distance from the dog's body. If it gets scared by the noise of the hair dryer, keep him in a room keeping the room heater on. After the dog grooming process is over, do not let your dog go out. He will be most probably tempted to again get dirty. These were the basic tips about dog grooming.
